We carry a host of Latin and South American coffees. Our organic Peru coffee is generally a mildly acid coffee, light-bodied but flavorful and aromatic. Peru's coffee generally resembles Mexican coffees. Like Mexican coffee, it is considered a "good blender" owing to its pleasant but understated character. Peruvian coffee is so versatile, that in addition to being used for making flavored coffees, it is used for making dark roast coffees. Wet-processed coffee from the Chanchamayo Valley, about 200 miles east of Lima the high Andes, this is the premier Peruvian coffee growing region. The Cuzco region, particularly the Urubamba Valley, also produce a respected Peruvian coffee crop. More recently northern Peru is beginning to harvest respectable crops of Peruvian coffee.
Coffee from Peru has been imported to the U.S. for some time now. More recently some of their coffees have been given Fair Trade and organic coffee designation. Although not as high end as Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee or Hawaiian Kona coffee it still produces an excellent cup of coffee.
